New DLC is out for God of war ascension


Sony today launched new downloadable content for God of War: Ascension called Primordial Weapons. The add-on content introduces the Armor of Typhon and the Mercenary Blade.
The content is available to purchase today, though a price for the DLC was not divulged.
The Primordial Weapons DLC follows last week's Armors of Anarchy and Blades of Darkness expansions.
In addition, free DLC armor--The Chimeran Armor--is now available on PSN. According to its description, the armor "bucks authority with both a viper's venom and a lion's pride."
Sony also released an infographic detailing player behavior in the God of War: Ascension multiplayer mode. According to the graphic, 240,861,493 players have been killed since the game launched in March, while gamers have spent a total of 3.48 million hours playing.
The God of War: Ascension player logging the most game time in multiplayer was KnightMareIV, who has played over 356 hours to date, which is equal to more than 14 days. The game has been out now for 63 days


Nvidia Shield to be launched in June

NVidia's Android-powered handheld gaming system will be available in June worldwide.The price will be around $350.Users can buy it through NVidia's website, as well as at Newegg, GameStop, Micro Center, and Canada Computers. 
Nvidia announced a handful of games coming to the Shield. Double Fine is supporting the platform with two titles: its Kickstarter-funded Broken Age and Costume Quest.
Other titles coming to Nvidia Shield include Flyhunter from Pixar veterans, as well as Skiing Fred from Dedalord Games and Chuck's Challenge from Niffler.
Gamers can have access to gaming avenues like NVidia TegraZone, Google Play, and Steam.

Position Based Fluids Makes water more realistic in future video games



According to Mashable.com

A new fluid simulation algorithm, called "Position Based Fluids" (PBD) makes it look easy, with water bouncing off objects in a startlingly realistic fashion.

Although graphics in 3D computer games has gone really far in the last decade or so, the water in most of them does not look very real — especially when you throw a couple of solid objects into it.

In fluid simulation, enforcing incompressibility is crucial for realism; it is also computationally expensive. (...)
By formulating and solving a set of positional constraints that enforce constant density, our method allows similar incompressibility and convergence to modern smoothed particle hydrodynamic (SPH) solvers, but inherits the stability of the geometric, position based dynamics method, allowing large time steps suitable for real-time applications," explain NVIDIA's Miles Macklin and Matthias Müller-Fischer.
